The light stands at 65 feet tall and is made of fluted  marble. July 3, 2010.

Brief History

        Built in 1929 on Belle Isle, to honor William Livingstone. William Livingstone was a Detroit resident who was president of the Lakes Carriers Association from 1902 - 1925. During that time he implemented many navigation improvements. The light is active, but not an aid to navigation. The Memorial Light is made of white fluted marble and stands 65 feet tall.
