White-tailed Deer are populated throughout the state. Fawns once per year (May or June) have white spots all over them. White-tailed deer's have a lifespan of 5-10 years. Elk are only populated in Otego County and parts of Cheboygan County, in the Lower Peninsula. Elk have a lifespan of 15-20 years.
White-tailed deer pictures were taken with a Fuji S700 digital camera. Elk pictures were taken with a Canon EOS D-SLR Rebel XT, with a Canon 100-300 zoom lens.
