BRIEF HISTORY
Sturgeon Point Lighthouse was built in 1869 and is still active. The tower is 70 feet high, with a base diameter of 16 feet. The lighthouse is located north of Harrisville. The keepers dwelling is now a museum. The Tawas Point Lighthouse was built in 1852, and later rebuilt. The lighthouse tower also stands at 70 feet tall.
