LIGHTHOUSES
Through the years lighthouse have been guiding ships around reefs, ports, shoals and traitorous waters. That is why people call them beacons of safety. Lighthouses were built between 1825 and in the early 1900's. Lighthouses are no longer manned, they are automated. There are more lighthouses in Michigan then any state in the nation.
