All pictures were taken with a Canon EOS D-SLR camera, with an Canon 28-105 Ultrasonic wide angel lens. I used a Hoya Polarizer to help reduce glare from the sun, on the first two pictures. I also used a Sunpak Platinum Plus tripod.
BRIEF HISTORY
The Grosse Ile North Channel Front Range light was built in 1903. This is the last surviving light on the island. The light is 3 stories high, the outside of light is made of cedar, and the inside is covered with varnished wood panels. The light was deactivated in 1963. In 1965 the Grosse Ile Historical Society purchased the light for $350.
