BRIEF HISTORY
The Big Bay Point Lighthouse was built in 1896. The lighthouse was built on a bluff that is about 100 feet above Lake Superior. Presque Isle Harbor Light was built in 1941, is active and is 40 feet tall. Marquette Harbor Lighthouse was built in 1853, then rebuilt in 1866. This lighthouse is 40 feet high and is active. The U.S. Coast Guide occupies the lighthouse.
